The San Francisco Bay Area Black & Jewish Unity Coalition is a grassroots organization comprising social activists from the Black and Jewish communities and a community of allies committed to the causes of racial, social, and economic justice and dismantling systemic racism at the local, regional, and national levels. To achieve our goals, the Coalition fosters collaboration between Black, Jewish, and other marginalized San Francisco Bay Area communities.
General Coalition meetings are held every second Thursday of the month from 6:00 pm – 7:15 pm via Zoom.

The Coalition will announce new and continued initiatives at general monthly meetings; we identify activism efforts connected to our four strategic focus areas. Currently, we work as a large group on issues concerning Criminal Justice and Prison Reform, Community and Economic Development, Health and Environmental Affairs, and Civic Engagement. When our membership grows, we will restructure to form committees corresponding to the above focuses.

Marketing and Materials (Content Creation): We are always seeking innovative ways to engage with our community. Are you skilled in creating catchy social media kits? Do you have a knack for writing persuasive letters or emails? We need your skills to further our cause.

Ally Outreach: Strengthening and expanding our network is key to our mission. Please liaise with our allies, discover opportunities for mutual support, and foster partnerships.

Legislative Research and Coordination: Our mission is political as much as social. We need your help influencing undecided legislators and mobilizing legislative support for our cause.
Identify legislators who might be open to our cause
Coordinate with aides from cosponsors to understand their needs and support them
Direct Advocacy: Every voice makes a difference. We need your voice to reach those in power and to advocate for our cause.
