For the past 12 years the San Francisco Interfaith Council (SFIC), in collaboration with the Norcal MLK Foundation, has hosted the annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. March from the CalTrain Depot to the Yerba Buena Gardens Esplanade, where Dr. King's life, vision and memory are observed in an Interfaith Celebration.
In light of the staggering increase of COVID-19 Omicron Variant positive test cases in San Francisco, and to ensure public health and safety, the decision was made to postpone the outdoor March and Interfaith Celebration, scheduled for Monday, January 17, 2022 until January 2023.
The Interfaith Celebration, emphasizing Dr. King's vision of voting rights for all, will be aired virtually on Monday, January 17, 2022, at 11:00 am.
